The Directorate of Occupational Safety and Health Services (DOSHS): Responsible for ensuring that workplaces comply with safety and health laws. DOSHS is responsible for enforcing two Acts of Parliament: Occupational Safety and Health Act, 2007 & Workers’ Injury Benefit Act, 2007. DOSHS's mandate is to promote the safety and health of workers in Kenya.
Employers/ Occupier: Responsible for the safety and health of people who work or visit their property. This includes ensuring that the property is safe and free of hazards, and that people are provided with the necessary facilities and equipment.
Employees: have a responsibility for their own health and safety, as well as the health and safety of others. Participate in workplace OSH committees, report hazardous situations, and comply with OSH requirements.
The OSH Act of 2007 is an act of Parliament that provides for the health, safety, and welfare of workers and anyone else lawfully present at workplaces.
